11600 REC?

REPORT BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL ON ORDINANCE 18 JUN 30,

ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE,

2nd May 1890

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "Ordinance to amend 'The Public Health Ordinance 1887'" and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.

The 27th Section of Ordinance No.24 of 1887 only provided for closing Chinese Cemeteries. Section 2 of the present Ordinance, by omitting the word "Chinese", enables the Governor in Council to close "any Cemetery or burial ground".

Section 3 of the present Ordinance expressly authorizes
